About

• The department of Anaesthesiology was started in 1995 when the college was established.

• The first MCI inspection was held in September 2002 for starting PG courses (M.D) in Anaesthesiology. Approval was granted for two M.D. students every year

• The department was recognized for M.D Anaesthesiology by Medical Council of India (M.C.I.) and the first M.D. exam was held in 2006. There was 100% result for consecutively in 2006 and 2007 and 2008.

• Approval to start diploma in Anaesthesiology was granted and the first batch was admitted in 2008.

• There are two M.D. and two Diploma seats in Anaesthesiology per year.

• The department working has been divided in various sections viz.:

        - Anaesthesia O.P.D. for preoperative checkup and Pain clinic for management of chronic pain patients

        - Various operation theatres in allied surgical branches.
        - A departmental museum, departmental library.
        - Offices for faculty members.
        - C.C.U

• The academic session is very regular. There are facilities for the staff members to keep themselves up dated academically. Various conferences, C.M.E and workshops at the local, state, national and international conferences have been attended by the staff members and resident doctors. Various papers and posters of research and scientific work have been published and presented.

• Dr USHA SUWALKA was appointed chair person and judge in scientific session in several national conferences and chairman of scientific committee of state conference of I.S.A held at DIU.

• Dr D.C.Tripathi & Dr Pramila Jha were selected as trainer and instructer for ACLS and BLS training from A.H.Association for ACLS+BLS training.

• Dr Anup Chandani was joint secretary for national conference of ISSP held at Jamnagar in 2002 and chaired scientific session at west conference of ISA at Raipur 2008.

Scheme of Examination : A) Theory : 1. There shall be 4 question papers, each of 3 hours duration. Total marks of each paper will be 100. Questions on recent advances may be asked in any or all papers. 2. Theory examination shall be held sufficiently earlier than clinical/practical examination so that the answer books are assessed before the commencement of the clinical/practical examinations. 3. Theory examination will be 400 marks. Students must obtain 50% (200 marks) to pass examination. 4. Framing of the question paper would be such that it can test the student’s analytical skill as well as knowledge in depth.

Theory examination will be f 300 marks. Students must obtain 50% (150 marks) to pass examination. 6. Each paper will be consisting of 4 questions. All questions will be compulsory.      a. One will be of MCQs type – 25 marks      b. Second will be of long descriptive type      c. Third will be of short descriptive type and      d. Fourth will be of short notes type 7. Framing of the question paper would be such that it can test the student’s analytical skill as well as knowledge in depth.
